Wishes Fireworks, Castle Dreamlights, Frozen Holiday Wish, Osborne Christmas Lights, Illuminations Reflections of Earth, Limited Time Magic, Main Street Electrical Parade, Operating Hours, Fireworks The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train attraction at Magic Kingdom caught on fire last night at around 10:20pm. It is believed that the fire was caused by the Wishes! fireworks. The ride experienced minor damage, and re-opened at around midnight.
Reedy Creek were on the scene within minutes to distinguish the fire, which was at the top of the mountain, so was hard to reach.. “We believe fireworks fell from the Magic Kingdom fireworks show and the ash landed at the top of the attraction, catching the fake grass on fire,” Bo Jones, spokesman for the Reedy Creek Fire Department, said in a statement. “The fire was contained to just the grass and did not get into the building or structure.” There were no reported injuries from the fire. Video from 'Gamers Light' on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oIaG3sLhfqY Disney is soon going to be expanding its range of 'Glow with the Show' style products. The whole system will be renamed 'Made With Magic' and will still feature the Mickey Ears. There will now be 3 other options rather than the standard Mickey Ears. There will be Minnie Ears Headband, Mickey Glove and a Wand. The new products will use the same technology as the hats, and will still be used in the current participating Disney World and Disneyland shows and attractions. All 'Made with Magic' products will be sold for $25.
The WDW opening hours for November have been significantly changed:
- On most nights, the Magic Kingdom will remain open 1 or 2 hours later than usual. - Additional Main Street Electrical Parade performances have also been added for quite a few nights. - Hollywood Studios opening until later. - Extra Fantasmic! performance on some nights. - Animal Kingdom opening until later. See official WDW website for calendar of events and operating schedule. The popular, limited time, Frozen Summer Fun event at Disney's Hollywood Studios, finishes on Sunday. Some offerings, including Wandering Oakens and the singalong will stay, but most will be going. I have produced a quick video montage reflecting on the event...
