A woman has died after a collision with a Disney bus, near Disney's Coronado Springs. The RTA occurred at around 2:30 this morning, and there were only 20 people on the Disney bus - none of which were hurt. See below for article from Orlando Sentinel.
A Windermere driver died Monday morning after she ran a red light in her Honda CRV on Walt Disney World property, crashing into a Disney transport bus and a third vehicle, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
The crash happened on West Buena Vista Drive and Western Way, an intersection near Disney's Coronado Springs Resort, FHP said.
Troopers responded just before 2:30 a.m. and later identified the driver of the Honda CRV as Amelia Davis, 29,
There were about 20 passengers on the Disney bus. None was hurt.
Davis was waiting at a red light on Western Way at the intersection of Buena Vista Drive.
Meanwhile, the Disney bus and a 2015 Chevy Cruze were traveling south on Buena Vista Drive, approaching Western Way.
As the bus and Chevy Cruze entered the intersection, Davis blew through the red light and traveled in front of the bus, troopers said.
Her Honda was struck on the left side by the Disney bus, driven by 58-year-old Fard Karim of Orlando.
Her vehicle then spun out, stopping when it hit the right side of the Chevy Cruze, driven by 24-year-old Jeremy Mercado of Louisiana.
Mercado and his passenger, Sarah Haidar, 23 of Michigan, were not hurt.
An investigation is ongoing.
This is a developing story.
